Welcome to Fukuoka!
Whether you’ve arrived by air, rail, or sea, Now Map is your indispensable guide to the city. Crafted by Fukuoka Now’s seasoned team, the map is the culmination of years of on-the-ground exploring—designed to showcase the best of Fukuoka to international visitors.

Our mission
Simple: enrich your Fukuoka experience. Now Map is more than a map; it’s a tool for discovery, created by long-term, non-Japanese residents with English speakers in mind.
Overview
From Meinohama in the west to Hakozaki in the east, and from Hakata Port in the north to Minami-koen in the south, Now Map gives you the city at a glance. Plan your day with ease—hit landmarks and local favorites like Shofukuji and Ohori Park.
Detail
Flip the map for a close-up of the city’s busiest hubs—Tenjin, Kawabata, and Hakata—perfect for walking, shopping, and café-hopping.
Convenience meets practicality
Unfold it to see the whole urban area; fold it down to pocket size. Unlike a phone, it’s always on and needs no data. Jot notes, draw routes, and keep it as a memento of your trip.
Clear and easy to use
• Bilingual, with English place names matching street-level signage.
• Color, double-sided: a Greater Area view plus a Tenjin & Hakata zoom-in.

Trusted by the people who help visitors
Hotel concierges, tourist information staff, and guides rely on Now Map as an essential tool. Since our first edition in 2009 (when large cruise ships began regular calls at Hakata Port), we’ve updated it twice a year to reflect a city that’s always changing. It’s also adopted as Fukuoka’s official foreign-language map at major international events and conferences.
Distribution
Published biannually in April and October.
The October 2025 edition prints 100,000 copies, distributed free at about 260 locations: stations, the airport and port info desks, major attractions, hotels, cafés, and more across the urban area. We also supply universities, vocational schools, and ward offices to support newcomers starting life in Fukuoka.
