カジノ運営会社の米バリーズコーポレーション、3月30日に福岡市で記者会見し、福岡市で統合型リゾート（IR）事業を展開したいとの意向を表明した。候補地として、東区の海の中道海浜公園エリアを念頭に置いているとのこと。コンセプトは「1960年代の古き良きアメリカ」で、カジノやホテルタワーに加え、アイスアリーナや球場なども併設し、年間460万人の来場者と、およそ6000億円の経済効果を見込んでいるということです。IRを整備するには、自治体が国に計画を申請して認められる必要がある。福岡市企画調整部は「誘致は検討していない」としている。Source: TNC
