福岡市の映画館「中洲大洋」が、3月末で78年の歴史に幕を閉じる。3月29〜31日最後の特別興行はチャップリン3作品（一律¥1,000）。戦後の焼け野原から「博多の人たちを娯楽で明るくしたい」と、建設業を営んでいた初代の祖父が、約1,500席を備えた木造3階建の映画館を建てた。建物の老朽化のため3月末で営業を終え解体される。
